Founded in 1986, with the development of
John-Wesley Villas in Macon, Frank and
T.J. Rauls were brought up with a
commitment of services to retirees. Tyler J. Rauls, Sr.,
their father, made that commitment early on when he
built the first new nursing facility in Macon, Georgia
in 1957.
John-Wesley - Macon would be just the beginning of this
new concept called Assisted Living. In 1989, the company
expanded its horizons to Savannah with both Assisted
Living and Independent Living apartments.
T.J.
and Frank Rauls would then search for property in the
Atlanta area that would be in keeping with the high
standards they had set for retirement living. They were
fortunate to find Winnwood Retirement Community. The
previous owner would only agree to sell, after seeing
the quality of John-Wesley properties. Winnwood was
acquired in July, 1995 and the concept of "Retirement
Living at its Finest," began in historic Marietta.
Building on the success of the community,
The Teem, a 100,000 square foot independent Living
residence was added to the campus in 2006. This new
building features a business center, workout facility
and theatre.
After an extensive search for another
quality community to add to the company, the Rauls
family purchased the Veranda in April of 2009. It is a
state of the art retirement community with 145,000
square feet, featuring a theatre and indoor swimming
pool.
With caring, and highly trained staff,
and owners committed to bringing seniors the best in
retirement living, it is no wonder the companies owned
and operated by the Rauls family continue to grow. |
